The Main House opens onto shared living and dining spaces with sweeping views across Maputo Bay, while the Garden Cottages and Suites are fully en-suite and air-conditioned, set privately among lush indigenous gardens for guests who prefer a quieter retreat. Together they give every group the flexibility of shared island living with private, comfortable space to retreat to.
Guests staying at Nahyeeni Lodge have full use of a large freshwater swimming pool, a fully serviced pool bar and open-fire areas for evenings under the stars. Our own private boat is on standby throughout your stay for excursions along the coast of Inhaca Island, including snorkelling trips, island tours, marine safaris and sunset cruises across the bay.
Inhaca Island lies within a protected marine reserve, offering an extraordinary variety of ocean and island experiences right on Nahyeeni doorstep. Discover the shallow coral formations of Ponta Torres (Santa Maria) and Coral Gardens (Barreira Vermelha) while snorkelling or diving, visit the historic Inhaca Lighthouse at the island’s northern tip for spectacular panoramic views, or head offshore for a day of deep-sea fishing in some of the region’s most productive waters.
From July to November, migrating humpback whales can be seen in the waters surrounding the island, alongside resident pods of dolphins. Back on land, more than 300 recorded bird species, together with Inhaca’s mangroves and coastal dune forests, provide another fascinating side to the island waiting to be explored.
Nahyeeni Lodge offers its own private boat transfer directly between Maputo and Inhaca Island, priced at USD525 return for up to 14 guests. Offering greater comfort, convenience and flexibility, your private boat remains at the lodge for the duration of your stay, ready for the many excursions and ocean experiences available around Inhaca and the surrounding islands.
Alternatively, the regular public ferry to Inhaca departs from the Catembe ferry crossing point in Maputo, offering a scenic journey of approximately 2.5 hours across Maputo Bay. Light-aircraft transfers can also be arranged for guests looking for a quicker or more flexible journey to the island.
